My Own Wings

My Own Wings

A Poem by Katerina

You say that I don't listen
That it's like talking to a wall
That after years of repetition
I'm not changing at all

But you don't see how hard I try
That I'm not doing it on purpose
After all the times I've failed
I'm still not giving up

No matter what I try to do
You seem to think I'm still a child

I'm not a child anymore
I'm all grown up with my own wings
So now it's time for me to fly
Won't you please just watch and smile

This is a lovely, motivational poem I thought :)

Wow, I like this. It reminds me of books I've read, where the character is so misunderstood. I liked how at the end you made it happy and the character isn't bitter instead of them doing something dumb and committing suicide or something. It was a great poem and keep writing! :)

About
Hey everyone! I'm Katerina, but you can call me Kat :). I'm a poet, and I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at it. But then again, writing is an art, and art is always in the eye of the beholder.. more..
