I Tried, You Refused.

I Tried, You Refused.

A Poem by ashleydawn

The Bible
That book you thrust in my face
every waking moment
Has taught me
not to go to sleep when angry.
To reconcile, to love, forgive
That's all I was trying to do tonight
Communicating in a way that was comfortable
a way that guards my quick reacting
mind and tongue from fanning the flames
But you were too tired
and refused.
