Lotus

Lotus

A Poem by Ashley_Pietro

mud--
blanketing silent water

i lay beneath your murk
at sundown
releasing the oxygen
of my wetness
into your earth
    impending dawn
i do not want to climb through
unstained

    peeling back the petals
you delightfully taint
my pink unfolding"

    i arrive into the daylight
floating
above your thick rapture
    i am your exotic flower
    i am your exotic flower
