fading away

Along in the night, where our love once bloomed,

I feel the distance, cold and consumed.

Lost in the echo of words unspoken,

Hearts torn, hopes broken, dreams forsaken.  

Frustration’s grip tightens, shadows grow,

Longing for a warmth I’ll never know.

Yet still I reach through the silent ache,

Hoping, dreaming, for love’s fragile break.  

But if the feeling fades and fades away,

May we find peace in a different day.

For sometimes love must gently depart,

To heal the wounds and mend the heart.
