NostalgiaA Poem by AshIsolated, your vulnerability emerges. Your guard down, as in tears i drown.Above me lay a cotton field, From which the sun shed its scorching beams. The unnamed treasured feelings emerging in the
air, I believed was all I needed to be forever
happy. The musty aroma now easy to bear. Chirping sparrows become melodious to hear. As if to celebrate March Twenty Second. Little things, like smiles and stolen kisses,
when meant a great deal. Alone, no longer, when all disappeared.
Under the blazing candlelight on a stormy
night. To memories, I seek refuge from conflict
inside. No magic carpet to whisk me away. It’s a shame moonlight, can’t enlighten the
darkness within. © 2016 Ash |
