BreathlessA Poem by AshNothing is worth the lives lost in brutal warsThe reasons for why I never shall see. They never were revealed, to dead body. No longer I hear, feeling acidy. So many creations, eyes wish to resee.
This awful end oh why didn’t I foresee. I’m fading away I feel already. A candle cannot make me somebody. To a mortal world I was a leasee.
They admonished me, go son, fight the war. Go fight for your so noble, valiant cause. The cause that led, me to turn lifeless, And burn like decayed ashes of cigar. My Last flashback, the alter, all applause, A kiss sweet, now literally breathless. © 2016 Ash |
