Chapter 2

We get to know each other we learn each other's names and grades he's in 9th grade and his names is Brandon we were trying to figure out how strong it is and i used my phone and see what the weather was looking like and i see that the tornado is three blocks away from the school and  i told Brandon we need to get farther away so we don't get took in the tornado as we head out we see the tornado not moving at all Brandon said his father told us about this if a tornado is not moving it is heading straight for you. The wind was picking up and we start freaking out because right behind us the gate to the school was ripped out of the ground from the wind and we saw a car nearby so we jumped in and im only 15 but i mean its a life or death  situation so i tell Brandon to get in and i drive to my moms house cause she had a storm shelter but when we get there i discover the tornado got to our house i started crying and i quickly grab my phone and call my mom but she didn't pick up I got so scared  that me and brandon is going to get took with the tornado so we started to go towards the storm shelter that is still safe and  i park and stop the car and i get the keys to the car and me and brandon see my mom as she hurries us into the storm shelter me and brandon both are crying by now and i ask my mom why she didnt pick up the phone she said “im so sorry my phone was dead “ I tell brandon he should try to call his dad and tell him  he is ok and that he is in a storm shelter and to check up on his dad so he takes his phone out and calls his dad and his dad picks up the phone and his dad said are you ok and are you safe brandon says yea i am ok i am in a storm shelter with my friend and her mom and his dad says ok, i am ok to i got to a storm shelter without getting hit by the tornado and brandon said ok i am glad you are safe, and brandon also said “ I am going to get hang up because i dont want to run my battery dead i only have 20% of battery left “  and brandon’s dad said  “ok son i love you and be safe out there and i hope you make it back home safe” and brandon said “i love you too dad ,i will try to be home when the tornado is gone”.

As brayden puts his phone back in his pocket and my mom says here i have a charger and i say but how will it work there's no possible way of charging it my mom gets up and says well wouldn't you like to see this wonderful contraption  she pulled out a square thing that looks like a charging spot and i asked how does it work and she said its solar powered and that she always keeps it in a sunny place and she picked it up on her way over to the storm shelter she has to chargers one for her and brandon they both charge their phones and they plugged them up and when my moms phone powered back on an alarm started going off and we see that a category five tornado is on its way to Grantsville and it should be here within the next ten minutes we all started to get worried as we are sitting only in a small stone storm shelter
