A Mental Shout

a policeman receives a death call...

He made detective, and he bought a new suit,
but it all started after a foot pursuit,
the phone rang,
words were said,
his face bright red,
the call was fatal,
he slammed the receiver into its cradle,
cursing bitterly,
filling his mind with a mental shout,
the brief conversation
has left him with no doubt,
he would face his last case,
he thinks about the scattered blood,
all over his new suit and all over the place,
tempers were hot,
the skinny kid he shot
was HIV positive,
death doesn’t happen in an open court,
as the Medical Examiners filed his last report.
