Academically dead

Academically dead

A Poem by August

A's turned into C's
another piece in this rat race
we chase the top, work at dead hours
how long until i fail before these crumbling towers?..

Exams i study for half heartedly
Just so i can say I didn't try-
Wait until i reach my full potential
Im afraid this is all i have, this is all i am..

Once there was pride, but now I'm in shame
As i watch my father's face change
He's signing my report card, 130th in class
please don't let my face show i care..

There's the ones having fun,
there's the ones reaching the top
How am i stuck in the middle, falling behind
I blame the system, i blame my system..
