Like a Pilgrim

Replete are the paths to you-
serpentine and deceivious-
with mazes of emotions capricious,
burning embers of desires,
trenches of unrequited aspires,
oceans of turbulent memories,
shards of broken promises,
Still I follow your illusion
with a pilgrim's devotion.
