I am a boat

Untethered from the shore

I have no motor

No sail

No oar

Nothing to guide me

As I drift all alone

I long for an anchor

Or a rope to hold me fast

I long for something, anything

To hold me where I am

I am tired of drifting

Of being carried by the waves

I only have hope though

That I will be guided home
