Weep not grandfatherA Poem by AvelinaFor my great grandfather
Weep not grandfather
I'll dry your eyes. With soft touch And love with sweet embrace My hand felt your tears They soak into my skin And our eyes meet I know you're still here They tell a story those hazel gazers Of your finest memories And I am humbled Weep not grandfather Nor be ashamed at what your body could not overcome There is still strength in your heart Let me shelter you from bitter As you have done for me And kiss your salty tear stained cheek © 2015 Avelina |
