After the Storm

After the Storm

A Poem by Sam Markay
"

I spent some time thinking as the last dregs of sombre weather wedged their way past.

"
a drizzle, juxtaposed
shadows on the lightning
yesterday and years ago were never so calm

thin light, bleak
striking awe while others may traipse aimlessly

my thoughts are seamless
each drip of light, fresh water
making contact with the ever clear pools

smiles sit in traps of liquid so transparent
hope lays atop trees

distant whistling may break you from
a dream
but it is all part of the scene for me

About
I write things from myself, as any writer does. Most often it becomes poetry, or poetic prose. I also enjoy working on longer fiction pieces, and will try almost anything new if it fits the mood. more..
