Butterfly Wings

Butterfly Wings

A Poem by Ayanda Mteto

The sun rises with a new dawn

A morning of spring shining with hope

Upon the heart finally free

Tasting for the first time fresh air delight

Whiffing sweet red roses

      White lilies

Completely in the ambience of happiness

Singing like birds beautiful melodies

Soulful sounds resonating blissful jazz

Soothing an ugly duckling transformed into swan

With accomplished dreams

Beautiful as a peacock’s tail in a colourful rainbow

Tears dry as sweet emotions arise

Enchanted by the sky wings opened to fly

Sweet kisses with happy endings

A caterpillar hatches into a butterfly

Flapping wings

 Butterfly-wings

She flies towards a flower

Full with pollen a sweet dry honey
