The taste of forever sits on your bottom lip

The taste of forever sits on your bottom lip

A Poem by Azakhiwe Dilinga
"

An Ode to love

"
Static hearts
will never understand this rush.

To tell you of how I feel
is to explain the layers of time.

My heart is in constant motion for you, Venus.
It is a flawless force.
Do you feel it?!

The flow speaks unheard peace.
Flow with me,
flow in time and maybe in time
we will reach the mouth.

There, the water is endless,
forever flowing.

It is a beautiful place for lovers;
it is a paradise for us.

There, we will swim naked,
our love will not shake.
Promise me it will not shake.
Love, love... promise me.

Ask not: "Do you love me?"
Rumi has given us guidance
that to deny one's self for another
is love without wanting anything in return,

because

"I died to myself and I live for you"
...only for you.

The metaphor of flowing water, rivers, and “the mouth” works beautifully to symbolize emotional release, surrender, and destination in love.

“The water is endless, forever flowing” becomes not just a physical scene but a representation of timeless love, eternal, cyclical, divine.

Beautiful piece of art❤️

Poetry is a device to translate my essence. Sometimes, I can’t articulate what I feel. But poetry finds the voice I don’t always have. Writing searches parts of me I didn't even kno.. more..
