Why are you on a hurry to wither?

Why are you on a hurry to wither?

A Poem by Azakhiwe Dilinga

"I am on time"
she answered
with a gaze absent of fear.
Calmness stood at the window,
flame lit in her consuming eyes.

She continued,
"Time is a good friend,
to those who do not force
what has passed
or try to trap what is to come.

Even the earth
will inherit your body
marry the soil
and nurture the soul
of this garden."

Her petals fell.
In her last flame,
left wisdom of the seasons.

She said
"If the land is arable,
there will never be new vegetation
without work.

The land is fertile,
it needs work.

If the land is barren,
there will never be new vegetation
even with the greatest effort."

About
Poetry is a device to translate my essence. Sometimes, I can’t articulate what I feel. But poetry finds the voice I don’t always have. Writing searches parts of me I didn't even kno.. more..
