Gone but never lost

Gone but never lost

A Poem by Azira

The chair still waits, the room still knows,
The echo of your laugh still flows.
A shadow lingers where you stood,
A silence deeper than it should.

The days move on, yet time feels slow,
Each dawn arrives, but I still know"
The world has changed, it can’t be right,
Since you slipped gently from my sight.

Your footsteps fade, yet in my mind,
They walk the halls I cannot find.
Your voice, once warm, now drifts away,
Yet in my heart it learns to stay.

The photographs can’t touch or speak,
They hold your smile, but not your cheek.
And though they freeze what once was true,
They ache because they’re missing you.

I reach for words, but they fall thin,
No poem can heal the ache within.
For grief’s a river, wild and deep,
That flows through hearts that cannot sleep.

And yet, through sorrow’s heavy night,
Your love still burns, a gentle light.
It guides me through the darkest skies,
A spark that never fades or dies.

So when the stars awake above,
I search their glow and find your love.
Gone from my sight, but not apart,
You live forever in my heart.
