Ex Lives

sort of a follow up to 'always leaving'...kinda...

I built this boat for the both of us,

But you didn't want to sail away. 
So I left for the new world on my own,

Departed and left your loving harbors.
All on my own, I will fight the storms ahead,

And all on my own I will sink to the ocean floor.

I made this new chapter for the two of us,

But you burnt the pages and said you stopped reading books.
And I've been writing aimlessly to paint your love on these pages,

To find your love on these waves.
But I've been left stranded on this desolate sea,

On this forgotten shelve.

I am overwhelmed by this piece. Its not often i run into a writing that brings up so many emotions within myself and i applaud you. This is a very special write and if you ever want to turn it into a song im already halfway there :)

~ heartbreaking poetry... but oh so beautifully written... the second stanza is particularly overwhelming... ~ you wrote the image exceptionally well... and i loved the way you connected the second stanza with the first one... ~ the ocean, the sea, chapters, books, waves, shelves... it's all there... ~ an apparently simple piece of writing but so very intense...
