Life (A Burden or A Privilege)

Life (A Burden or A Privilege)

A Poem by B-poet

The entry date for my inception

Was no less an invitation

To experience the privilege

Of carrying the weight of a burden

Unheard of for certain

The final curtain call

Will be initiated

Since I was cast

By conception and not chance

For this life long play

The lessons embodied

Within my script

Will be carried out without any delay

Keeping me on cue

In terms of my purpose

To emulate what’s true on the surface

So the cycles and signs of life

Remain concurrent

And further renewed

While the joy of this undertaking

Will leave a clue

As the sun goes down

In plain view

On my final day

When my last breath

Will be taken tried and true

Out of the blue

A real question was asked

By my conscience

Not vast in suffrage

At what age?

Will the final page be turned

As the book of life becomes closed forever

What’s left to uncover

After we’re returned to the earth

And exposed to the Weatherly elements

Are we for sure

Hell bound or Heaven sent

A point now proven to represent that life is a privilege

In disguise as wayward why

For giving birth to death

The afterlife has to mesh with our physical presence for certain

So we can be released from our living burden

As present day superficial humans

Hmm, I really enjoyed how you describe life as a privilege and a burden - so incredibly true - not one of us knows when it will end, I suppose we have to enjoy the burden while we're privileged to have it :) great work!

a great emotional imagery of life and reality.......
I'm always fascinating with your view mr. Poet... its so much riddles and has a profound deepness of its core...
as always a well crafted piece....

Wow there were so many emotions and so much imagery portrayed. I had to read each line very slowly to grasp the overall meaning ..and it's powerful to say the least. So moving and dark.. So many questions unanswered.. what we all long for the meaning.. the truth of life. The reasons for the pain and sorrow... It's beautiful :} thanks for sharing

I like the reference to the book of life and the final page, that was really neat.

As with a lot of your works, I have a hard time pinpointing any certain elements that stand out...they're usually well-crafted and progress at just the right pace.

Love it! A great reality check! You did not try to pump a bunch of sunshine into dark places, but you brightened the landscape for sure. Great question and a very profound answere. Trueth rings clear. I hear the it now!
Be well.

While reading this it made me feel like this heavy cloak of responsibility was being placed over me. Whether we were planted here by choice or destiny we do have a purpose..a soul destiny to fulfill.. and that last line seals it very well.. xo excellent write.
