Antecedent Love

Antecedent Love

A Poem by B-poet

It had remained

A confidant

In a past life

No one wants to let go

A rich Antecedent Love

Nourished the unadorned

Depths of lovingness

Within all committed souls

Who've been

Intertwined with heartfelt & loving joy

While basking in the moonlight of pure devotion

This congenial potion of love

Will forever be

An unprecedented notion

Designating genuine companionship

For all who've chosen the path

Towards regaining a lost sense

Of endearing relational happiness

Which made a brief presence

During every effected person's

Short devoted love life

Within all loving minds though

It still remains a coveted past time

I always enjoy reading your stuff. It has such a brutal edge to it; always honest and in your face, not filled with superfluous words that block the message. This piece is no exception. Well done.

When you lose someone, it's like losing a sense...I sympathize with these sentiments for sure...a fine piece :)

-grin-

Seems we are all reading something different in this piece.
I read it as most of us have at one time experienced what we consider that one perfect love. The moments, the sliver of time where we felt such happiness and completeness. Having experienced that, it lingers in the mind and heart.. Always trying to recapture that again with another (or maybe even the same person after a time).. That past dream our mind has embellished even more in it's remembrances to a level even the original never achieved... But, we think it's out there somewhere and we'll find it.

Great piece!

Even when we want to give 100%, we fall short relationships, The wants and needs keep changing; it's hard to keep up. Great write!

A lot of times a persons job becomes their mistress and nothing left for their spouse at the end of the day.
While the other person is losing their identity taking care of the children...having a relationship is hard whether married or not these days...nicely done...Rose:)

you make a very poignant observation in this wonderful write.....so much of what we expect from love is so much more than we are capable of giving...releasing our egos and prides and social status quo is the only way to attain that prize. we are predisposed to act contrary to that notion, although we are very physically and hormonal motivated beings, we have little concept of giving 100% of ourselves to another....this is a terrific write..
