Emotional Reprieve

Emotional Reprieve

A Poem by B-poet

We're tired of

Wearing our own hearts

On our sleeve's

Just to fake

Being emotionally free

With ease

What we all need

Is a chance to find

A live in retreat

Disguised as a feat

Towards obtaining

A morale boosting

Emotional Reprieve

Normally I don't care for the use of "cliche" in poetry, but the "heart on our sleeves" bit in this piece actually worked quite well. You do well in a concise and simple form; few words and still packing an emotional punch with a strong moral currency.
