Hell's Quicksand (Here On Earth)

Hell's Quicksand (Here On Earth)

A Poem by B-poet

It's a sinister sinking plot

Catching you by surprise

The deviant temptation traps

Are under hasps

Hidden along the paths

Of endearing men

Who want to get into heaven

Yet they've taken a wrong turn

Into an eternal fire trap

Leaving them to burn

While sinking under & beyond

A suspicion of reason

More in-depth than

What they would’ve imagined

Hells Quicksand (Here On Earth)

Remains a camouflaged mystery

For the sake of all parties involved in

The tyranny towards capturing

The human spirit

While basking in hell's eternity

Within these hidden proverbial sands

Of free-willed time

Can become possible as long as the trail

Is disguised as a righteous path

Of an indecent loving betrayal

On the part of Hell's Quicksand (Here On Earth)

The idea of hell (s quicksand) here on earth is very fitting. And you have captured it perfectly. I really enjoyed this poem.

I can hear the eerily melodic croon of Johnny Cash falling into a burning ring of fire...the most spiritual people spend much of their lives sinning, and will be the first to admit it if they have any semblance of self-awareness...I think I'm pretty self-aware for the record...a powerful and thought-provoking write :)

"Within these hidden proverbial sands
Of free-willed time"
time can become a mans worst enemy when they're trying to combat sin- wonderful word choice here! sand always makes me think of hour glasses and endless dripping time between our toes... many humans do their best to avoid the evil, to avoid the sin, but it's omnipresent and lingering in our world. it captures us even when we try our best to steer away from it- great work.

i think it was Nietzsche who said "when you stare long enough into the abyss...the abyss will stare back at you" ...anyway, wonderfully penned piece of writing here, well done!

What a concept - we could all so easily fall into this trap of quicksand leading to the abyss...

endearing men
Who want to get into heaven
Yet they've taken a wrong turn...

And because if the "camouflaged mystery", we never see the trap...

Good poem, got me thinking.
