Pit Of Deception (Getting Out Of It)

Pit Of Deception (Getting Out Of It)

A Poem by B-poet

Running in circles fast

I must reach

The top of a spiraling bottomless

Pit Of Deception (Getting Out Of It)

Is easier said than done

The fear of losing a promising life

Backed by endless

Amounts of adrenaline

Keep the perpetual escape cycle ongoing

Favoring despair and condemnation

Yet as I'm getting closer too

Reaching the brink of exhaustion

Along with taking my last breath

Of desperation

The top edge

Seems within reach

As close as the vicinity of a near inch

Towards gaining lifelong freedom

It sounds believable

Yet (Getting Out Of) this predicament

Defines a misconception of hope

Promoting no real chance

Of escaping this Pit Of Deception

Pits of deception are pains in the arse! I like how you illustrate the round and round cycles as well as the need to get out. You very subtly pen in the perception that the endlessness is an illusion. Very well done!

what a great write, I really like how you played with the title at the end and the feeling of fighting to Get out of it is something we can all relate, great piece.

sounds like an all too familiar theme of late, but i suppose applies elsewhere in equal proportions. any way, a very engaging write, well penned.
