The Sting Of Bitterness

The Sting Of Bitterness

A Poem by B-poet

Watching a dream

Go up in smoke

Like at demolition sight

Disintegrating hope

A time will convene

For animosity

To make its mark

Within our minds and hearts

Reminding us that

The Sting Of Bitterness

Must be avenged

At the fringe

Of a later due date

As long as redemption & not hate

Are positively involved

At all costs

Revenge isn't always the answer but bitterness, revenge and hatred eat us up. Just like what Rita said.

Revenge usually does carry a measure of positivity, it's just not the kind that carries any redeeming virtues with it...it has a shelf life...I like the curt bluntness of this, well done :)

The sting of bitterness is keen. I love how you are not afraid to say that it must be avenged.

One lost dream must be replaced by another, as that is how we survive! If we are unable to meet a goal then we should resolve to make an attempt to meet it again. It is only when we are able to overcome the disappointments of life that the sting of bitterness may be healed with a balm of victory! It is redemption that conquers revenge!
Nicely penned!

while i was reading this i am reminded of my experiences with dancing: there is so much rejection and so many points where dreams go up in smoke, but the best thing to do is use that to push you forward and achieve better!

the words "positively involved" begin to sound a bit like a news article, so if you're open to changes i would toy around with that line :)

i really like how concise this is, but still makes you really think- great work! keep avenging the animosity with positivity!

any good christian will tell you that vengeance belongs only to christ....man is too vengeful to serve that master....my personal take on this is that vengeance is wasted energy, it proves and solves nothing other than that we can be vengeful....terrific write.

It is sad when dreams fade away but some things are not meant to be and we have to get on with life.
Nicely done BP...Rose:)

For some reason, this reminded me of the demolition of a Las Vegas casino...you know, how they implode them and they come down in a linear line of dust and debris without touching anything around them? This is a bit like watching a dream go up in smoke; something we have worked so long to achieve and it impoldes, leaving us bitter and pained, and yet those around us are often unaffected. Beautiful imagery in this one.
