after everything has been computerized, technology makes everything manual essentially useless- however, i still write all of my poetry by hand and in notebooks. i always read real books and will never sell my soul to the "nook" or other computerized reading materials... something about that makes me think that poetry MUST be timeless. some of these words that we scatter around must stay around and enlighten someone...anyone!
this piece is one of my favorites of yours that i've read. i sure hope that poetry is forever timeless. great work!
I really dig this. Thoughtful, lofty, and enjoyable. Not forceful at all and it's really enjoyable. Like other reviewers have said, I hope poetry will be "forever timeless" also.
geez, Bpoet--really like this piece, and i sure hope it is true...
i hope a hundred years from now people will still be reading poetry...
i just wonder sometimes...the new generation doesn't seem to be as into it...although there are many wonderful young writers...and many here at writerscafe who appreciate the genre..
i have been teaching for 20 years...literature, doing poetry, short stories and plays..
and it seems the short stories are very popular with the students...but the plays, barely..and the poetry is a real challenge..getting them interested..
so i hope poetry will stay "forever timeless" as you write.
I love the thought behind this BP. That's what is so special about written word.... It's as old as time and never diminishes in its value but grows with each new reader.. Great write.. shallimarRose
there is no greater art than poetry, in my opinion. surely, painting and sculpture and music are phenomenally beautiful and inspiring, but nothing more interpretive than the written word. beautifully penned, dear poet.
