A Personal Ending Preference

A Personal Ending Preference

A Poem by B-poet

Let the wind blow away

My ashes to where

They've never been before

What's in store

For my remains

After this bountiful journey

Ends during the peaceful memorial of

A Personal Ending Preference

As serene like solace

Comforting my soul

My contribution towards helping

The earth's ongoing display

Of civilization's obsession

With a greater tomorrow

Rather than cherishing

A better yesterday

Remains forever in a day

Within the minds

Of a million or more inhabitants

Who've benefited from my existence

Even after my tenure

Has passed away

With my own inhibitions

Making it into

The Hall Of Fame For Philanthropists

I think you achieved profound. It's very thought provoking. The older we get we tend to think about what legacy we wish to leave behind, but I don't think we truly give it that much though until we are forced to. This was beautifully done.

i really enjoyed this whole first section! it caught me and kept my attention:
"Let the wind blow away
My ashes to where
They've never been before
What's in store
For my remains
After this bountiful journey
Ends during the peaceful memorial of
A Personal Ending Preference"
i haven't really thought about cremation or burial, but this piece gives that idea a whole other dimension! i personally (if i were to be cremated) would want my ashes scattered in a place that i've never been before because travelling is so important to me that i'd like even my dead body to continue to explore the world where i hadn't had the chance to step foot. i really enjoyed this piece!

This reminds me of relatives that have passed away through the last few years...very thoughtful and well-put :)

The Hall Of Fame For Philanthropists... :)

This is a wonderful aspiration - to do so much good in the world that this is how we are remembered. Nicely penned!
