It's that calming unique

Day of the week

Were you can seek out

A way to recharge your spirit

With or without merit

During special peaceful moments

Of sunny solitude

While in plain view

Of gracious blue skies

Seen through elated eyes

Belonging to benevolent hearts

From the start of their lives

What lies behind the focus

For Sunday joyousness

Whether if your at the park

Or if church is involved

In planting sermon seeds

Where your faith

Will grow into meaningful deeds

Associated with the days

Of a grueling week ahead

I didn't mean the dread of toil

I meant the unfolding business

Of your life's calling

Should be enjoyed

Within a family setting

At the dinner table

Centered around your closet kin

Which paints a pretty picture symbolizing

Loving & bonding kindred spirits

Enjoying each others company

The poem is very upbeat and joyful. For the traditional family Sunday is the perfect time to gather and give thanks. You captured that well.

Even though the poem is upbeat, I find it kind of sad...many of us have lost or have had to sacrifice the good things that should be associated with Sunday...it feels like just another day of the week now, as so many people have to work through it anyways, or are too tired to enjoy it after a week of work...for me this poem is an ode to a simpler time, when "family time" still meant something...great piece :)

Sunday is a day of renewal - a beginning, often involving family, for some, church... it's a good day to recharge, however that is accomplished. Nice!
