Breaking Bread With The Enemy

Breaking Bread With The Enemy

A Poem by B-poet

A speculative scene

Revealing ulterior motives

Crippling the power

Of a familiar foe

Who's more than capable

Enough to devour

His undercover adversary

Masking the glamour greed

Ruining through his veins

While wanting to covet

A territory of riches

Far beyond his reach of influence

Yet it may

Never happen though

Since every detail

For the execution plans

Of our avenging hero

Were ultimately disclosed

As he was

Not all friendships are what they seem - and some aren't friends at all. A very wise and well thought out poem.

Interesting idea here... I see this as someone who is being fooled by someone else...and thus I am reminded of my own life when I have had so called friends stab me in the back completely out of the blue. I like this one, and it is definitely written in your signature style. I enjoyed it.
