A calming cool wind

Makes its way

Through an open window

Welcoming a breathtaking scene

The unveiling of florescent colored leaves

Marks a new seasonal beginning

Since our spirits

Are looking for comfort

From a nightly silhouette

Preceding the brisk overtones

Of a dawning sunrise

Our dearest desires

Are hidden & embedded within

The shadow's of autumn's essence

Giving new life & meaning

To a wistful thought process

In the minds of weary lives

Who want to deaden the sounds

Of summer's extended daylight hours

More than ever

Most people strive

To obtain this soulful balance in life

As they're

A time of reflection (at least for me) within nature's beautiful colors. This time of year reminds me that everything cycles and we can find hope, solace, peace in every situation if we open our minds to ponder possibilities and outcomes. I enjoyed where this poem took me!

I'm a big fan of Autumn...but what I found really interesting about this read is how you used the idea that Autumn ushers in "new life and meaning", when that is usually the job of Spring. Very clever, and metaphorically significant, at least in my own thought process. I love the changing of seasons, though I have to admitt that this time of year is when I feel most at home. Lovely write.

One suggestion: I think you could omitt the second to last line "As they're", and just go from:

To obtain this soulful balance in life
Finding solace within an Autumn silence -- the "as they're" is implied and this would help the flow there in the end. Just a suggestion :)
