A calming cool wind

Makes its way

Through an open window

Welcoming a breathtaking scene

The unveiling of florescent colored leaves

Marks a new seasonal beginning

Since our spirits

Are looking for comfort

From a nightly silhouette

Preceding the brisk overtones

Of a dawning sunrise

Our dearest desires

Are hidden & embedded within

The shadow's of autumn's essence

Giving new life & meaning

To a wistful thought process

In the minds of weary lives

Who want to deaden the sounds

Of summer's extended daylight hours

More than ever

Most people strive

To obtain this soulful balance in life

Autumn has a distinct smell, just as winter and spring and summer, today it smelled of Autumn so I know it is officially here whether the Indian summer agrees with us or not. I too feel that autumn is not the end of summer but the beginning of something completely unique with a beauty all of it's own, like this write, it may be a poem about Autumn but the the mind that wrote it and the mind that reads it, it says something new has begun, it moves me like none of your other poems have before.

Mmmm Autumn is my favourite season and this... Is fall in a poem. The brilliance of leaves, colours, the sky alone on a brisk blue day... Your imagery is immense and encompasses the season so fully..
