In oppose to

Silly gimmicks

Falling by the wayside

Of our experiences

With familiarity

As gravity partakes

The confines

Of everyone's perception vault

Free of cost

True words... I think that we all need to look deeply within ourselves when we come upon challenges in our lives; often times we will find that there is something in ourselves that can be changed to make the situation better/different.

One suggestion:

In (opposition of) -- instead of "In opposition to" might flow a little nicer.

'Falling to the waist side' had me perplexed, as we grow older we tend to expand, it's up to us to make the necessary adjustments in life to keep ourselves relevant through any age. I'll put down this jelly doughnut now. ;-)
