Old Habit's (Will Often Grow Like Unforgettable Weeds)

Old Habit's (Will Often Grow Like Unforgettable Weeds)

A Poem by B-poet

In the wake of

Reflexes catering to vices

Of a rare nature

It's an urge

That's hard to shake

After being

Governed by destiny's sake

Of instant gratification

Vanity

Will forever feed off

Every anonymous consumer's

Rationally written creed's

Only need to see that

Old Habit's (Will Often Grow Like Unforgettable Weeds)

They're an easy place to fall back on...bad habits die hard, especially the ones that been with us for some time. Weeds indeed.

Food for thought, both about habit and maybe also about the "weed" of endless consumption that's so rampant in our world?

There's an old proverb that says "Habits are at first cobwebs, then cables." Your words highlight this adage, BP.

I enjoy it. I am sure this is not the best you can do, as you said this was experimental. I do like how the rhyme scheme varies and vocabulary that is a bit beyond basic, but not too complex to confuse. Great job.
