Perils of Vanity (Version 2)

Perils of Vanity (Version 2)

A Poem by B-poet

Rich with ulterior motives

This slice of self-disposition

Consoles all novices alike

Who've ventured along

This gratified pathway

Of desired superiority

Most of them quickly

Wanted to be

Like an heir

With royalty perks

Who often blinded

The morale of his subjects excerpts

With adverse & soulless

Bribes of trickery

Backed by inherited enmity

Tyranny always remained

Affluent with their royal highnesses bloodline

Cleverly hidden in disguise

Within a correlated corridor

A begotten crown of misfortune

Had gravely lied

Alongside the remnants

Of his fallen kingdom's

Vain portrayed pillars

Perils Of Vanity

I think this version even more clearly points out the ways that vanity deceives people--subtly and so that they may not even know it.
