Beating The Begotten Path (Tri-meter Version)

Beating The Begotten Path (Tri-meter Version)

A Poem by B-poet

Merited Tendencies

Inherited to please

What's instinctual in

Ourselves came from two genes

Whose energy gave us

Wings to evolve in the

Likeliness of vocal

Self mastery is God's

Divine way for us at

Beating The Begotten

Generational Path

Running within the veins

Of our fallible skin

I love it all - incitefull, thought provoking with an philosophical take on society's influence: Everything influences: We were, we are and sometimes it seems we're trying to get back to where we began, but we are not infallible. You are very creative and an interesting writing. Thank you so much. Dale

The slant rhyme on please and genes reads great. "Who's" should probably be "whose" though. Good work.

Top notch spiritual/philosophical write … really superb.

Very creative indeed. It's a short poem but you deal with profound subjects--nature vs. nurture, genetic tendencies versus self-determination. Well done!
