Holes

Holes

A Poem by Brad Dehler

Everyone
    Has holes in their thinking
Evermore in their speaking
Our dubious task is
    To not fall inside

Seems that each day, perhaps each season or term, presents data relevant from the past. That in turn leave those 'holes' for yet to be decisive completion. Research covers a multitude of factors as you surely know. For many, holes are an essential.. we need dig in order to discover more but with care - else there could be a landslide!

Of course, human beings are only human beings...

Not exactly the kind of poetry I normally read, but this one is definitely a good find.

To not fall inside... Ha ha, sounds simple enough but unfortunately in practice it isn't always so.

This should be the disclaimer posted on every "influencer's" profile... not that the zombies would listen anyway. Outstanding piece.

I appreciate that Mr Travis! I do appreciate the interesting take on it as well... Indeed
Really sound piece of brevity with humour added to it as well. Nicely penned.

I really appreciate your praise. Thank you thank you
This was a wonderful observation and sound advice. Maybe some of the holes need filling in; certainly where education and communication are concerned. Everyone is so, "Oh, don't talk about that, you might offend someone"...but how can there ever be understanding or empathy or enlightenment without civil discourse? We can't go shoveling everything into a ditch or sweeping it under a rug forever until the ditch overflows and there are noticeable lumps in the living room carpet. What we need is to bring everything out into the open and hear every possible opinion and perspective on every matter to gain a well informed opinion of who has a better solution to a problem. If we cant fill the gap then maybe we can build a bridge of understanding across it together. I enjoyed the read.

Thank you Veronica. Yes the allegory crawls on. I like that! :)
This is pretty cool. Kind of like an Epigram, but more profound than funny. But still hit my funny bone. You'd be good at writing limericks I bet.

Nicely put and so true - we all do have gaps in our knowledge. Allen Ginsberg used to describe himself as 'An Eternal Student'. And maybe that is the best way to be.

This is succinct in the best way possible. It is not what you say but how it is said.
