Mighty Sol rises

Kindling the sky in silent flame

Darkness banished, the stars put to flight

Apollo’s chariot, last fruit of Laurelin

Perilous to behold

Sustainer of all life known

But in the panoply of heaven

Merely dust, spinning through eternity
