A prayer of the soul treading on the unknown

 

This petty soul,

Treading alone and bare hands on a path unknown
For there is no mystery in journeying on the known
Many seekers left oceans of knowledge to guide
But not to follow any is the adamant soul's decide

But it is between you and me, I have my fears now
Faith is the only guard I have, watch me from above
I know you are in and around me ever ready to hold
But why is this silly freaking soul so shaking my bold?

Let not the thirst and hunger make me fall or fail
Let not spikes of the tiring path put the rail to derail
Don’t test me in my testing times that are to come
Be my guide and reach me safely at my destined home

This reads like conflict between the heart and mind; civil war between the soul and its faith. You play both perspectives really well so I get to see why you feel the way you do about the two, all while arriving at the positive ending: You're gonna go out and carve your own path in spite of your fears and doubts.
