Without herA Poem by Balkaran SidhuIts about what a husband feels after his wife has left this world....who died in his arms
Her picture without her presence
like a shadow under no light her pillowed place Without her Usurped by desolate night. Her comb, lifeless without her hairs nothing else could bring it to life the way it used to roll through piercing the plaits like a blunt knife. Her dress without her like a rainless cloudy day The tossed empty space Of cloud-rack whence the moon has passed away. And what about me Hollow like a bamboo without her like a living dead with moving hands I can just write about her. Her memories in my mind like the sweet breeze of spring that I want to live again Cause my lost smile is what it could bring. My very soul, very much lost My heart can't beat in this chill In her absence, the sides doubled darkness up the labouring hill. And my love unfulfilled the love that I gave her, like I want to give now She forced me to promise to live without her But I just don't know how... © 2012 Balkaran Sidhu |
