It happened one night.

When I saw you   I knew

 

You had that look  The look that said yes

 

We had only been friends  This now changed

 

My mouth went dry   Your heart pounded

 

You smiled so sweet   My eyes so bright

 

I walked to you   You stood your space

 

You appeared unsure   My breathing was not

 

I sized you up   The momentum moved us

 

You stood in your area   The game was on

 

I touched your face   You didn't flinch

 

You looked up   I could hear your heart

 

You smiled sweetly   I kissed your lips

 

We knew

I love the way love is portrayed in this poem; the differences in the reactions, the knowing, the start to finish. When you know, you know and I honestly believe in most situations we know! I was able to envision the looks, the expressions, the gestures. Even writing this review I can picture each face. Well done!

How lovely. It's the right time for me to come across this as it recently didn't work out for me with someone I considered a friend and I lost them entirely in the process. My Grandad always said that men and women can't be friends, as at least one of them will always want more at some stage. I've tested his theory but so far he has proven to be right!

I was close friends with a woman from 2009 to 2014. I cared for her very much ada friend. She was real pretty too ...but she got very mad at me about a mistake I made at work and the friendship ended. I actually mourned the friendship since I cared so much. I thought of just showing up at her house and asking for forgiveness but I just couldn't do it. It's sad.

That's very sad. I wasn't friends with the person I mentioned for anywhere near as long, and it was still hurtful. I suppose not everyone we meet are supposed to be in our lives forever.

You can feel the tension and the risk taking - but taking them anyway and with a happy ending.

I like the style you used to tell this story, really helped to see it from both characters separate points of view, then the coming together in one view at end "we knew"
