I want to say I love you,
Yet my heart stops the words

I want to say I care for you
Yet the words never rise

I want you to know your meaning
Yet my tongue lays still

I do love you
I do care
Yet these mere words fail

My love for you is grander than my heart
My caring greater than my arms
Your meaning
Greater than my words

I like it. It's simple, but why does the heart stop the words? Especially after it is used as a comparison for the amount of love?
