Barrage

This is yet another dictionary poem.

Barrage, chrysalis, esteem, indelicate, monarch, orchid, powder, remnant, splatter, strangle, truce

 

A barrage from above

Just as the chrysalis forms

No esteem for my fragility

Every move indelicate

I will be a monarch, an orchid, a thing of beauty

You wish to turn to powder the remnant of my hope

You watch my future fall and splatter

You strangle the little life it has

Until the truce you offer serves no purpose.
