Shocked by the pain
This girl keeps inside
He longs to hold her
And tell her it's alright"

When she tells her story
He wants to make it better
One person should not hold so much pain
Or so many scars on their heart

He comforts her everyday
Tells her he's there for her
That he will not leave her ever
But it's apparent she doesn't believe him

He tries harder each and every day
Pleading with her broken soul
To try and mend all this hurt
That she has trapped inside

With every smile he sees
Every laugh he hears
He hopes that maybe she can get better
And be truly happy for once

But 'til the day he can prove his words
She shall always doubt him
He does not blame the girl
Because he loves her
And she loves him
