After.LifeA Poem by Miss Marie Riorden. What would you do if someone told you you were dead and you weren't ?She's lies on the examination table "You're dead, you see?" "I can't be dead, it's not to be! Let me out of this place, I should be free!"
Her skin pallor has gone death pale Sunken cheeks, cold flesh A giant scar upon her forehead Made by that "car accident", it's really fresh
She argues with the coronor Her death is not legit She believes to be alive And even he says she's it
The makeup looks so contrasting Against how white her skin has got She looks like the corpse she is That room is the opposite of hot
The coronor has told her she's dead Her wonderful boyfriend never cried She starts to believe the death's curse And accepts she has finally died
How can he talk to her Like she's one of the living She's tried killing him , twice now it seems And of this he is still forgiving
She still wants to escape He's stitched her up, put makeup on Forces her in the funeral attire Now under the ground she has gone
Six feet under, struggling for breath She knows she's not dead, it's not possibly true Bloody nails from the coffin, she scratches them bare As time passes on she starts to feel blue
And he tries to rescue her, the faithful and scared boyfriend Digging under the ground, a race against time Her coffin appears, it's finally opened And for himself it looks like life, is a nickel for a dime
CPR is his option, she needs to be alive He loves her with all his heart, say it once for her But all of this was a sick and twisted trap Shall we say a masochistic lure ?
The coronor won't let them live They shouldn't know his schemes So for the coffin the girl and boy go But this wasn't all in their dreams © 2011 Miss Marie Riorden.Author's Note
