WIND'S PASSION

WIND'S PASSION

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

changes in wind and love

"

A substantial wind lifts the sails to perfect stance

meantime the two hold the tiller

hair flapping straight back

glancing at each other off and on

smiles on their windblown faces

clouds drifting by at speed

just enough gale to arouse the sea into white caps

sails swing in staccato rhythm

Glances emerge as a kiss now and then

smiles convert to laughs

pink tongues feel passion grow

soon the wind diminishes to a sunset breeze

sails slap back and forth in no hurry

thereafter quiet imposes itself

the great sea releases white caps who listen

to the windless moments

time to sanction their lust

as they retreat below deck

and accept the moon’s tides

to carry them where they will

dear Betty... now I understand the Passion for Sailing and becoming intoxicated with feeling the roar of thunder below. softly, Pat

Indeed Pat, this is important...passion always wins in the end!

Listening to the windless moments is a great line.
I really like the very moment you realise there is a windless moment after the annoyance if it whistling through your ear.
It's very similar to the silence where you have to whisper something to make sure you haven't went deaf!
