I suppose when life is filled with challenge; it is the small things like the nourishment of food that make it bearable and even beautiful. The tale is coming long rather finely.

The situation told is very sensitive yet no whining or pining but trying to sort what's a very delicate situation. This would make a movie, play.. Many thanks, as always.. for sharing.

This poem is cool. It talks about a cafe, yummy food, a little baby, and feelings. The words are fun, a bit sad, and full of hope. I like it. One thing - The font is a bit hard to read. Otherwise, rest is great.
Lovely work, Betty.

Well firstly, I had to look up what flatware was, buy now I know its cutlery I am less confuselated now!
What a plight for her to be in and not for the first time, but I'm sure all expectant mothers internalise their worries, but on top of that she has to worry about her fella being laid low and as forgetful as, well me I suppose.
I do hope there's a happy ever after planned for your characters, but as in life, we are not owed everything being wrapped in a pretty bow, just because it's what we want....More's the pity!

So the story continues. Our heroine, still in London and still pregnant, sits in a cafe pondering her future. Her soldier boyfriend is still hospitalized and is still in the grip of amnesia. She is pondering his release and recall of things, and hopes they can settle in together with the new addition. I am wondering, though, if she is going to try to convince him the child is his or risk giving him the truth. I believe we are about to see a new and interesting chapter in this fascinating tale unfold.

With 36 lines of poetry you have created a short story. To me, your writing here feels like Hemingway (that’s a compliment). This feels so real I must ask, is it autobiographical? In any event, I like it a lot.

One of the great book "Alias Grace." A Margaret Atwood book. A sad ending dear Betty. Once young doctor had amnesia and never could walk-up after serving in the Civil war. A great sadness in the story. In the poetry my dear friend. You could feel the yearning and the sadness. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

My love of poetry results from my love of art. As a painter I am able to express myself on a canvas. As a poet my words come from my heart, my moods, sometimes sad, mostly upbeat. I like to use vivid .. more..
