Forever Together

An acrostic dive into 'The Grave Tree' part five

Forever trees have grown
On hallowed ground to men
Rooting seeds death is sown
Everywhere stones are planted
Vast beautiful garden
Eternally marked by stone
Reaching for their heaven.

Together lives are seeded
Over coffins laid to rest
Graves and gardens weeded
Evergreens left alone
To grow the sky they crest
Hearing songs death needed
Earth and wood stone and bone
Roots of life stand the test.

oh yes! this is my new fav of the series! this is perfection! Say, while I've got you. I saw the most amazing film last night. It was like all of our poetry and stories brought to life. Uncanny almost. The Fountain. Stars Hugh Jackman and Ellen Burstyn. If you watch movies much check it out. It was...amazing!

Sometimes this format can feel disjointed and forced. You did a excellent job letting the form create.

You hit it there. Thanks. This was the second time I tried this and did the same thing. Wrote the words vertical and just let it pop. I think the rules said you have to start with the word you are using and that helps get it going. Have you done one in your pages?

Well, thank you! When I considered all the different forms I wanted to write the same poem in for this series I wasn't sure what I would do for an Acrostic. This did write itself into a certain amount of profundity. Thanks for reading that. Read you soon.

for each death, new life buds...
the roots of life continue the line...
My ashes are going to be spread in a lake....
a place I swam in the fifties...
I will literally sleep with the fishes...
