The Great Betrayer WithinA Poem by LovecraftThe idea of a Great Betrayer of Humanity.
An ornate knife in the spine I received,
Spilling blood and dust, here and there, While The Great Betrayer felt relieved, I just started to die, feeling his stare. The Great Betrayer portrayed himself as a man, Yet in the end it was what he once had desired, For in all his envy, he only needed one stand, One single moment to know what had transpired, Below. The Great Betrayer loathed and loved Humanity, Love and Lust, Joy and Greed, Vanity and Wrath, His was a form of life filled with only Tragedy, Eventually viewing all life treading the same path. The Great Betrayer Within will never Fall, For he inhabits us all.
