Oh man
Life is such a drag
I'm here trying to mellow out
Grooving with some blue grass
Oh how it rolls along the open plains
This magical sound
This soothing feeling
Sometimes fast and energetic
Sometimes slow and methodical
But always full of the simple and complex
Beauty that is the lands of open space
The lands of fields and amber waves of dreams
Yeah, there something to this fine blue grass
And don't bother me now
I've got a field of woes that need to be plowed
I've already done the fields of plenty others
I need a few moments to mellow and relax
I need to forget about that dreary and ripe crop
I need something that is a smooth and catchy blast
Yeah, give me some more of that sweet blue grass
And I know I gotta get something going
And I know the world won't stop spinning
At least not at this point for me
So I gotta go reap the field of sorrows
And I gotta deal with what has been planted
These are truly rotten tomatoes and sour grapes
But no matter, when I have some of that blue grass
I change all that sour fruit into a vinegar and vim
I can forget the troubles and mellow out for awhile
Taking in all that is that wonderful blue grass
