Introduction (Social Distortion)

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield

Here we see someone's mind
A poor soul not wanting to be blind
A careless drone, blissfull in ignorance
Taking the time to take the world in
Although it makes his sanity run thin

Here we see the complicated mind
An empath neding to unwind
To get away from the world he sees
Not always wanting to feel
The emotions that cut like steel

Here we see what we may not think to be true
Something that you think will never affect you
But we sometimes forget that we're all connected
Trying to find some hapiness and peace
A thing, place, person to put us at ease

Here we see the social distortion
Through one person's world...

Author's Note

Blake Q Hatfield
So sometime last year I got the idea for a book. I was going to tell the entire story by way of poetry, with some help from chapter titles and images (kinda like William Blake, but not exactly). It was suppose to be about love in some way, through one person's eyes. Well I actually got it done, but after reading some of the reactions to my more socially conscience poems, I decided why not try to do a book of those (anything can trigger a thought, but I think it was the comments to "It's Only Fashion SMKM.) Well I thought that the two book projects could be one whole thing. Instead of looking at the idea of love and social conscience separate, I could kinda have them play off of one another. It's going to be atleast 7 to 9 chapters, probably about 100 pages or so when done. Some of the peoms involved are posted here. I've always wanted to put something together, and when I had the initial idea, I had to do it. Not sure where it will take me, but we will see... But anyway, this is the intoduction poem to the first part, the world at large.
