Horror Child

Horror Child

A Poem by Clay Jones
"

This is for one the contests I entered. Read if you would like

"
In the dark forest
along the ledges;
Walked a boy
he walked beside the hedges;

Voices rang in his ear
sending their words;
Moving faster he walked
as if the voices were swords;

Running and running
scared for dear life;
Wondering where they are
and falls in strife;

The sound of a little girl
came closer and closer;
Singing it's insidious way
as if it were an imposer;

Begging the boy
to come and play;
And the scream came
to end his life and his day;
